OUR STORY... |
The idea for Crooked Birch was launched out of Marisa
Daly's home kitchen, in Lee, NH, during the summer of
2005.
As regular
consumers of salsas and flavored (dipping) oils,
Marisa's goal was to produce recipes which were a bit
more creative — and a whole lot tastier — than the
supermarket offerings.
Using only the
freshest vegetables with time-tested spices and oils
(along with feedback from Marisa's three
chip-dipping, bread-dunking daughters), a small, yet
diverse, lineup of salsas and flavored oils were
developed.
Marisa's first
test was in the early fall of 2005 at the Lee
Country Fair (her hometown's annual fair). It was
both overwhelming and exciting. The several dozen
boxes of salsas and oils Marisa brought were sold
out in a matter of about 3-4 hours.
Crooked Birch
was officially launched!
In 2010, our
organic growth continued - as Marisa and family
partnered up with a great group of foodies from
Rockland, Maine for shared ownership and
management of Crooked Birch Kitchen.
This dynamic foursome, consisting of Terry Lawry,
Rob Splaine, Terri Mahoney and
Richard Thompson, will bring forth a
renewed sense of spirit and energy to Crooked
Birch Kitchen, all while sharing the same simple
goal of producing great-tasting, hand-crafted
specialty foods....
